Halladay is sharp again and Madson and Lidge does there thing again ………………

WORST PART IS BRAVES CONTINUE TO WIN ………………. BUT HEY YOU GOT TO KEEP THE FAITH!

Roy Halladay was strong and forges ahead again with no O-ffensive support! A lot of base runners  but he he shut the door over and over again!

This game was yet another example of a cold harsh reality that people hate to admit. But the fact is that pitching and defense wins games and championships. Offense brings in fans and raises payrolls! Yeah that is the truth.

Sure you need runs to win but really it’s all about run differential and low ERA’s that keeps the good teams on top! And ERA’s are usually lower when our team has great defense! You see how it all works?

Friday night was just all that! And it all started with DOC –

Yes the line was the story for the pitching and how important is was to the win. But if you saw the game you also saw a couple huge defensive plays also played a big part in the game. As well as a couple blunders from the Nationals. It was also a very hard hit that Adam Dunn was not able to make a great play that led to a Raul Ibanez double and the winning run.

Oh and the O-FFENSE? – GROSS INCOME:

• Only 4 hits – 2 doubles

• 4 walks

• Rollins, Polanco, Utley and Werth all walked

• Rollins had his 15th stolen base and his 30th straight base without getting thrown out!

• Utley had a hit and scored the only run

• Werth had a double

• Ibanez had the RBI double

• Ruiz had a hit

• A sad 1 for 6 with men in scoring position

• Nationals were an even worse 0 for 11!

BULLPEN:

Madson was sharp despite giving up a hit and Lidge really did look very sharp and got his 17th save. His 7th in a row! And really no panic to be had over his outing! WOW!

If only the BRAVES HAD LOST!

HOWARD WAS IN A REHAB GAME IN CLEARWATER!
