ROLLINS HITS HIS 98th Career Triple moving ahead of Richie Ashburn in Phillies history

Well the good news is Blah Blah Blanton pitched very well and the Phillies supported him with great D and some timely O!  Okay Joe the Pitcher started the game by giving up a lead off BOMB! He also gave up a Burrell blast.

Frankly when you are dealing with a Blanton start you pray for 6 good innings with 3 runs or less. And to Bam Bam’s credit he did his job and came through big time.  “JOE I tip my hat to you brother. Honestly I’ve grown tired of your sorry Jekyll and Hyde act and unfortunately you have been more Hyde than Jekyll. But hey to your credit you keep taking the ball and trying to get it done, and last night you got it done. ”

 

 

My biggest complaint is that you are better than your performance has shown. Making one wonder if perhaps I over rated you. I mean I would have traded you and kept Cliff Lee but I did not think it was a bad thing that we ended up with you. But I can’t help but recall that even with your solid 2009, Charlie did not use you as a 4th starter! Dude that should have told you something and you should have come into this season with a chip on your shoulder and a determination to prove that you are a solid MLB pitcher. Instead it looks as if you just ate a bunch of chips and did not condition yourself. LOL Hey look at your ERA when you approach 75 or more pitches!

 

 

Also great work from Durbin, Mad Dog, and Jose Contreras! Man if we can get that kind of bullpen work, we are on our way to a third Fall Classic!

 

 

THE O – aka The Gross Income:

 

• 11 hits

• 1 Walk

• 3 Triples! Don’t get that often

• a DOM BOMB!

• Rollins has a monster 3 hit night = Triple, Single, and 3 run Bomb – J -Roll scored twice also!

• Utley opened up with 2 hits including a double = Chase had an RBI and a run scored!

• Ibanez had an RBI triple – his 4th TRIPLE of the year too. Raul had an RBI and run scored

• Werth doubles and goes 2 for 4 with and RBI and he too scored a run

• Chooch Ruiz goes 2 for 4 with an RBI. Ruiz also had a triple

• Dom Brown PH’s for Madson and hit a Monster HR to the 2nd Deck! What a sweet CRACK sound it was too!!!!!

• 6 RBI’s with 2 outs

• A not so impressive 4 for 13 with men in scoring position however

• Rollins has another 2 stolen base night!

 

 

Jayson Werth told the story after the game of what Charlie said when someone asked Charlie if he thought Rollins could hit anymore. Werth quoted Charlie as saying “You bet your sweet a — (butt) that he can hit!”

 

 

Let’s hope this is a sign of things to come because the Braves show no signs of slowing down!

 

BASEBALL EDITORIAL:

 

The MLB Players Union is objecting to the NY METS stance and attempts to annul Francisco Rodriguez’s contract. K-Rod hurt is hand in an altercation with his future father in law. He also was in trouble with the law for the incident. The whole matter has really rubbed the Mets the wrong way.

 

I don’t neccessarily disagree with the Mets or the Players Union but ……………….

 

The Union does not and has not lifted one pen or voiced any objections at the blatant breaking of negotiated guidelines when it comes to performance enhancing drugs. How many times is the media going to release details that are supposed to be legally sealed and confidential and the Union not say one word?
