Phillies Mania ANALYSIS

Raul Ibanez pops 2 homers to drive in 4 runs in a 8 to 5 win in DC over the Nationals.

After last nights marathon both teams had a quick turn around today and the Phillies needed a good start from Brett Myers. And they got it. Myers pitched a strong 7 innings, striking out 8 and only yielding 3 hits. Which were 2 solo home runs. But all in all he was in command all day. Especially after the first 2 innings where he piled up a few pitches.

It was nice to see Rollins and Victorino eash get a couple hits. When they hit the offense really gets going. Jayson Werth also had a big day going 3 for 5 with a nice shot for a home run.

Ryan Madson came in 8th inning to help Myers finish off his great day and he was guns a blazin’. But he hung a few pitches and was getting rocked a bit. He coughed up 3 runs to make the game closer then it was.

Phillies fans abroad were breathing a little heavy in the 9th when Brad Lidge came in to close the game. That would be because he has been surrendering runs faster than France rolled over to Germany. But he got the job done and looked to gain a little confidence back that he had lost.
