Very convincing argument however as far as Dom Brown had come he was still struggling with enough that he was not ready for everyday. The fact he was left handed did not help.

I would have considered platooning him with a clearly declining Ibanez but that would have left Mayberry out in the cold most likely. None of this should surprise anyone. This team has had a pattern of this for 2 years now. They do not score consistently. It is a fine line between what pitching can do and what it can't do. Look at San Francisco.

2012 Brown will get his shot in left!

We have a new team in town. It's name is the "New Phillies." Like a Phoenix, it's sprung from the ashes of the "Old Phillies."
It all started after the 2010 season when our jolly OLD manager felt the need to change the swing of our most prolific prospect who just finished a year in the minors batting .346. See:
http://insider.espn.go.com/mlb/blog?name=law_keith&id=6470379
Domonic Brown played RF with a sore hand. Try to imagine having a small bone being cut out of your hand. Instead of patience and a little understanding, all Dom got was grief. Then the poison pill that fundamentally changed the Phillies for the next 5 years.
Every great team has a "core" of veteran players that through their play and personalities become the face and soul of the team. The Yankees have had the "core 4." In my opinion, the core of the Phillies was Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Shane Victorino.

On 7/30, the Old Phillies were given the poison suppository. After a month of Charlie's whining for a RH power bat, ignoring John Mayberry, Ruben Pacino blew Dom Brown out of the water after his best BA and OBP month and brought in Hunter Pence at the expense of the Franchise's top prospects, not to mention Brown. On the day of the trade, Roy Oswalt was interviewed and asked about his old Astros teammate. Roy said Hunter always has to be the leader and plays second fiddle to nobody. Just what you want to throw into the chemistry of a championship winning ball club having its best year yet. Did it have an effect? Just go to the players pages for Jimmy, Chase, and Shane. Click "splits" for each and compare August and September to July BA OBP and SLG. There was a short up tick honeymoon period shortly after the trade, but the Old Phillies were always torrid in late August and September. Now we have a guy striking out named Bowker. Whooooooo?? Hunter's knee hurts and Brown is glued to the bench. Old Phillies won six in a row_____New Phils lose six. Old team, kid would come up and say,"Hey Jimmy." Now it's "Hey Jimmy, where's Hunter?"
